Population Council, Nairobi
The Population Council has been working in Kenya since 1965, when it was invited to send a team of experts to assist the Government of Kenya in formulating its first national population policy. Because the scale of activities in the country grew over the next two decades, the Council established an office in Nairobi in 1988. This served as the regional office for East and Southern Africa until the creation in 2002 of a regional office for Sub-Saharan Africa in Accra, Ghana.

International Sexuality Forum (ISF)
The ISF is a group composed by the Directors of Regional Resource Centres on Sexuality and Human Rights around the world. The Centres are part of a Global Dialogue on Sexual Health and Well-being and their work on sexuality, gender, reproductive and sexual rights emphasizes an approach from the social sciences, humanities rather than a medical approach, as a way to promote knowledge and advocacy in the field.

The International Encyclopedia of Sexuality (CCIES) Project
Between 1992 and 2008, editors of the award-winning CCIES Project recruited qualified volunteer scholars to research and write in-depth reports covering all major aspects and issues of human sexuality in specific countries. To facilitate comparisons and research on specific sexuality issues, each report follows a standardized outline. Currently, CCIES is available in a single massive volume with in-depth reports on 62 countries including 6 African nations compiled by 280 volunteer researchers.

The 62 CCIES countries are also posted on the Kinsey Institute website with a unique open access worldwide and free download . Any sexuality researcher, scholar or student with a computer and internet service can now consult, while new reports and old, dated reports can be revised.

CCIES's cooperation with ARSRC includes putting enhanced electronic files in PDF, HTML, ZIP, CD and HD formats for Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania in the ARSRC Resource Library. Through ARSRC extensive contacts CCIES editors hope to recruit volunteers to write reports on more African countries and update already posted reports. Excerpts from CCIES will also be included in the Sexuality in Africa Magazine , thereby promoting access to sexuality knowledge in Africa.
