CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The Africa Regional Sexuality Resource Centre calls for applications to its internship program. The main objectives of the program are:

	To provide students and young researchers with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience in the field of Human Sexuality at the ARSRC.
	To increase interest in and contribution to sexuality studies by young Africans.
	To strengthen the collaboration between senior and junior professionals in the field of sexuality.
	Interns in ARSRC will work with the staff and the Resource Persons of the Centre.

Assignments will include:
- Editing ARSRC publications
- Editing (English or Arabic) materials for the website
- Writing reports
- Managing the library and resources
- Conducting research on human sexuality (including web research)
- Managing the ARSRC databases
- Data entry
- Monitoring mass media coverage of human sexuality issues

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be at least twenty-one (21) years old
2. Have a minimum of a first degree or its equivalent
3. Demonstrate some experience or interest in the field of sexuality
4. Be fluent in English

Documents to be submitted by Applicants
- Duly completed ARSRC Internship Application Form counter-signed by the applicant's sponsoring agency
- Current CV and cover letter
- Letter of recommendation
- Copies of the latest educational certificates and transcripts or equivalent institutional records
- A brief description (500 words) of the topic of interest, area of focus and work plan for the internship period
- Please note that only fully completed applications will be processed.

Location and Duration of Internship
Internship will take place at ARSRC offices in Lagos. Internships are for a period of 4-8 weeks.

Financial and Administrative Arrangements
Interns are responsible for all own expenses (travel, housing, transportation, living allowance) related to the internship. ARSRC could assist in finding accommodation. Candidates are required to show proof of medical and accident insurance coverage prior to assuming duty as an intern. Candidates are also required to secure visas (when necessary) prior to their travel to Nigeria.

Exceptionally for 2006, ARSRC has a limited number of sponsorships covering accommodation or travel or living expenses. For interns receiving sponsorship the maximum duration of the internship will be four (4) weeks. Only applicants residing in Africa at the time of their application are eligible for ARSRC sponsorship. Candidates from other continents are advised to seek sponsorship.

ARSRC sponsorship will cover one or a part of the underlisted items:
- Travel cost (economy class fare);
- Accommodation cost for 30 days.
- Living allowance of US$500
